SUMMARY:Embodying the Global Vision Class
DESCRIPTION:5 Tuesdays: October 27-Dec 15 (No class 11/3\, 11/24\, 12/8) \nWith Rev Abigail\, 6 – 8 pm | in person or on Zoom \nHave you ever sat in a circle that speaks of Oneness and still wondered who wasn’t in the room\, or whether you fully belonged in it? \nIf so\, you’re in good company. Many of us love a spiritual path that teaches that every person is an expression of the Divine\, and we also want our communities to feel like that truth. This course is a place to explore that gap with honesty\, curiosity\, and heart. \nRooted in Science of Mind and the Centers for Spiritual Living Global Vision\, Diversity\, Equity\, Inclusion\, Justice\, and Belonging (DEIJB) becomes a spiritual practice here\, not a debate or a checklist. You’ll bring your own experience\, whether that’s feeling left out\, wanting to do better\, or both\, and you’ll meet others doing the same. Together we’ll look at the filters and hidden beliefs we all carry\, and at the structures that shape who feels welcome. Then we’ll practice what it takes to build a community where belonging is real. \nYou won’t be asked to be perfect. You’ll be asked to be willing. \nWhat You’ll Take Away: \n\nA shared language. Clear\, usable definitions of DEIJB\, and the difference between equity and equality\, and between punitive and restorative justice.\nClearer self-awareness. A compassionate look at your own filters\, implicit biases\, and hidden beliefs\, and how they connect to Science of Mind teachings and the Global Vision.\nA wider view. Why diversity is a spiritual value\, what stands in its way\, and why inclusion matters in spiritual community.\nTools for real relationships. How belonging is built\, what happens when it breaks\, and how to bridge back\, using compassion\, mindfulness\, and spiritual practice.\nGrounded courage. A personal relationship with equity and justice\, and the confidence to advocate in alignment with your values and your community’s commitments.\n\nHow We’ll Learn Together- Expect a mix: guided reflection and journaling\, small-group conversation\, teaching and frameworks\, spiritual practices\, and real-world application you can take home and use. \nWho It’s For- Anyone who wants their spirituality and their community to line up: longtime students\, newcomers\, practitioners\, and leaders alike. No prior knowledge is needed. \nInvestment: $165* (*Financial Scholarships are available- contact the office for info.) \nA free digital workbook will be provided; optional printed workbook cost is $12. Printed workbook must be ordered by Sunday\, Oct 18\, which allows time for printing. No other textbook is required. \nReady to step in? Register below or at the ASK ME desk on Sundays. \nPlease note: Use Ask Me Desk ticket option if you are registering/paying at the Ask Me desk.
